Make Music Salem 2021 Registration Now Open!

Dear Music Makers,

Make Music Day Salem is scheduled for Monday, June 21st! Right now, we are planning for an outdoor socially distant music event throughout the community and online events so that everyone can participate. Things may change but just like last year, Make Music Salem will go on in some form or fashion. We think it will be an incredible opportunity for all of us to celebrate music and community.

We look forward to sharing a day of music! Make Music Salem registration is now open. We encourage musicians of all talent levels and musical genres to sign up TODAY!

In addition to musicians, we are looking for venues to host music events on June 21st. Everyone is welcome to host, and there are only three simple rules. The event must be outside, free to the public, and be held on June 21st. If you would like to host, please register as a venue.

Last year we held Make Music Day Salem and did not ask for sponsors or donations to fund the event given the pandemic and the uncertainty of 2020, and the stress on businesses and individuals. Thanks to the Oregon Community Foundation and the kindness of many donors, we were able to continue. Make Music Day Salem is a non-profit, volunteer-run network. Donations and sponsorship are tax-deductible through our fiscal sponsor, The Salem Foundation. The event is FREE and open to the public. Our gracious sponsors and individual contributions make it all possible. If you would like to sponsor and donate to Make Music Salem, you can.

We will also be providing other musical activities, free music lessons, instrument giveaways, group events, and much more! Details to follow on our Updates page.  Thanks again for your patience, and we look forward to your participation.

Make Music Salem Registration Now Open!

Dear Music Makers,

Make Music Day Salem is a month away, scheduled for Sunday, June 21st!  Although this yearโ€™s event will be different than previous years, we look forward to sharing a day of music! Make Music Salem registration is now open and we encourage musicians of all talent levels and musical genres to sign up TODAY!

The registration process has been modified for this year to accommodate for our current situation with COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines. This means that you can set up live concerts that can be performed safely from your home and business environments (porches, stoops, balconies, out windows) and that adhere to social distancing and other best practice guidelines. For this yearโ€™s Make Music Day Salem we are only accepting registrations for concerts to be performed virtually via online platforms live or that are recorded.

You can read through our 2020 Registration Guide and Instructions here.

Even though this year's festival is being produced virtually, we want Make Music Salem to be as "live" as possible, and encourage live-streamed performances whenever possible. Live-streaming is easier than you may think, as you can learn by reviewing our Live Streaming Instructions for Facebook. When you register your concert, you will be able to include a link to a pre-recorded performance if that works best for you.

We will also be providing other musical activities, free music lessons, instrument giveaways, group events, and much more! Details to follow on our Updates page. We have also developed FAQs for 2020 to help with your questions. Thanks again for your patience and we look forward to your participation.
